Slit lamp microscope is an essential and important instrument for ophthalmic examination. The slit lamp microscope is composed of an illumination system and a binocular microscope. It can not only observe the superficial lesions very clearly, but also adjust the focus and the width of the light source to make an "optical section", so that the lesions in the deep tissue can also be clearly displayed.
Clinical significance:
1. Diffuse illumination method: It can roughly inspect the anterior tissues such as the conjunctiva, cornea, sclera, etc.
2. Direct black spot illumination method: The lesions in the illuminated area can be carefully observed.
3. Posterior illumination method: It is mainly used for the inspection of transparent tissue by assisting the light reflected by
the posterior tissue to examine the anterior tissue of the eye.
4. Specular reflection illumination method.
5. Limbal spectroscopic illumination.
6. Indirect lighting method, etc.
